November brought two very enjoyable trips to Grantham Guildhall, firstly to see ‘Allo ‘Allo which was very ably performed by the local Amateur Dramatic Society. The cast seemed to be having as much fun as the audience and we all enjoyed it tremendously.
Our second trip was to watch Ballet Cymru perform a modern adaptation of “Romeo and Juliet”. The dancers were brilliant and the audience was spellbound.
Two very different subjects, but equally as enjoyable as each other.
We are looking forward to our usual December Christmas Party, which this year is a “do-it-yourself” effort. Everyone is going to bring a dish or two, so that we can all share. We have a visiting Magician who, apparently, will be asking for volunteers (hopefully not to disappear!!). More about this in the New Year.
The Lovedon Group (of which Allington WI is a member) is putting on a Carol Service in Foston Church at 7.30 p.m. on Monday, 16th December. Allington WI is being represented by a small choir led by Bridget Farr. The ladies have been practising very hard – do try and get along. It promises to be a lovely evening, with refreshments at the end.
We wish the Village a Very Merry Christmas and a healthy and Happy New Year.
