Live Theatre at the Village Hall – Friday 12th October 7.45pm
HONEY – a contemporary, film-like play, with a beautiful folk music soundtrack performed by Reaction Theatre Makers
Hidden away in the Welsh mountains are stories of beekeepers and bomb disposal…
An intimate, thoughtful and atmospheric evocation of fragile family and community allegiances within a remote Welsh village. Tracing the lives of a young autistic man, his absentee soldier father, his alcoholic beekeeper mother and her tattoo artist sister, at the heart of the drama is a story of family – family fragmented, family struggling, and finally family rebuilding.
And woven throughout is the on-stage stitching of a honeycombed quilt, an original folk music soundtrack and stunning choreography. A strong story, gently told and laced with gentle humour, you’ll be rooting for the Mum, her autistic son, his father away at war and their tattoo artist sister.
Bar available, doors open at 7.15. Tickets £10 from Jane Anderson 01400 281046, Joy Hart 01400 282948 and Allington Village Stores.
