The Biking Vikings 2016 – Mam Tour

The Biking Vikings will once again be cycling in aid of Children in Need. Over the years they have raised over £75,000. This year the event takes place on 29 and 30th October.

Starting high in the Dark Peak this years route will start at the top of Winnats Pass near Mam Tor with a section of stoned trail before a section of the Limestone Way and then a descent down to pick up the Monsal Trail at Millers Dale. After passing around Bakewell and Haddon Hall we’ll then use bridle ways and minor roads to drop down into Bonsall for lunch and then pick up the Cromford Canal before riding down into Belper for our overnight stop.

The second day is around 49 miles and will take us out of Belper and around Shipley country park and the Erewash canal to bring us to Long Eaton where we’ll then follow the river Trent through Nottingham. Once through Nottingham we’ll then come through the Vale of Belvoir home for the Viking Stew!!
