This weekend, 7th and 8th November, sees Allington’s Biking Vikings take on their annual challenge. A group of around 30 riders will meet on Saturday morning at 6am. Together with their bikes they will be whisked away to the West Midlands and let loose to find their way home. This journey will take them through Dudley and Birmingham utilising canal towpaths. There will be an overnight stop at Hinkley before progressing on Sunday through Leicester and the Wreake Valley. Hopefully everyone will arrive back in Allington later on Sunday afternoon.
There is of course a point to all of this. The ride raises funds for Children in Need and has been doing so for many years. Over £75,000 has been raised to date. If you would like to support the riders you can sponsor them online at their MyDonate page. Donations can be made until the end of November.
Despite awful weather the event was a great success. Here’s a few photos that tell their own story.
