A Recipe From Allington W.I.

Ingredients

1lb pork sausages
A little oil or fat

For The Sauce
12oz can of pineapple pieces
½ oz cornflour
1tsp dry mustard powder
2Tbs brown sugar
2tsp soy sauce
2tsp Worcestershire sauce
2Tbs wine vinegar
¼ cucumber cut pencil thick and 1inch/3cm long


Method

  • Gently fry the sausages in the oil or fat until cooked, then remove and keep warm.
  • To make the sauce: drain the juice from the pineapple and make up to ½ pint with water and put in a pan and bring to the boil.
  • In a basin, blend cornflour, mustard, sugar, soy sauce and vinegar and add to the pineapple juice.
  • Keep stirring and bring to the boil
  • Add the pineapple pieces, cucumber sticks and season to taste.
  • Add the sausages and serve
