Quick And Crunchy Biscuits

A Recipe From Allington W.I.

Ingredients

1 Heaped tablespoon Golden Syrup
5oz Quacker Oats – there are a variety of other makes!
5 oz Butter
4 oz Plain flour
4 oz Sugar
1 Teaspoon Bicarb Soda
1 Tablespoon hot water


Method

Melt the butter, syrup and sugar in a pan
Remove from the heat and stir in oats and flour
Dissolve bicarbinate of soda in hot water.
Add to the syrup mixture and leave to cool.
Roll into small balls and place on a greased baking tray well apart.
Bake at gas reg. 6; 400F; 200C for approximately 12-15 minutes or until evenly browned.


Notes

These biscuits are really crisp and moreish.
