2022 marks the 70th anniversary of the ascension to the throne of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth 2nd in February 1952 following the death of her Father King George 6th. This historic milestone will be celebrated throughout the year and with a special focus on 2nd June this being the 69th anniversary of the coronation. There will be a series of beacon lighting events throughout the country and Allington will be holding one of these events.
Thanks to a generous grant from South Kesteven District Council we are able to make this a free to enter event. The event will commence at around 7:00 pm with a village BBQ and the opening of the Beer festival. Moderately priced Beer, Wine, Soft Drinks, Food and Ice Cream will be available to purchase
Allington Petanque will provide an introduction to the sport and sign up teams for the Jubilee Cup Competition
We will be entertained by the Belvoir Big Band a local 25+ piece brass band based in the Vale of Belvoir
The evening will be rounded off by our Town Crier, Bagpipes, Beacon Lighting and Fireworks.
Please feel free to bring you own tables and chairs but as this is a free to attend event, we do ask that you support our on-site catering rather than bring you own food and beverages on site.
