On The Green. Live Music, Beer Festival, Classic Cars and a Lancaster
On The Green is back for 2017 with some new bands, old cars, a nice selection of beers and a flypast by a Lancaster from The Battle of Britain Memorial Flight. The dates you need to know are 7/8/9 July. There will be some great music including a headline set from The Most Ugly Child in their full 6 piece format. On Saturday we’ll have The Boutones from Nottingham who specialise in rare and classic covers. The versatile Ant Mcandrew will kick things off on Friday and our first act on Saturday afternoon will be CJ Hatt. More acts will be added to the line-up.
The format will follow the pattern established last year. The live music and beer festival will be at the rear of the Welby. Weekend admission is £15 and individual tickets can be bought for Friday at £7.50 and for Saturday at £12.00. Under 12’s will be free if accompanied by an adult. Tickets will be on sale from 1 June at Allington shop, The Welby and online.
On Sunday the area around The Green will be closed to traffic and the centre of the village will come alive with a classic car show. The flypast by the Lancaster will take place subject to the serviceability of the aircraft and weather conditions. More information about timings will be posted in due course.
Food will be available throughout the weekend. The pub will be offering a festival food menu and will provide a bbq during busy periods. On Sunday the W.I. will be providing bacon butties and cake while the shop will also be lighting a bbq.
