No, don’t stop reading! There will be three elections taking place in Allington in May 2015. It is hoped you will be choosing the best person for the job for Government, local council and Parish council. Luckily the PC is a non political vote. The important thing is that we HAVE a vote in Allington
For this we need at least 8 candidates to have an election and elect the seven people who we think will best serve our community for the next four years. Allington Parish councillors must obviously have a commitment to the village and be prepared to give time to attend each bi-monthly council meeting, serve on advisory groups between the council meetings and to act upon decisions taken at these meetings in the best interest of the whole village and all of us who live here.
The current Parish Councillors are asking everyone to consider either standing themselves or nominating another as a candidate. Information about candidates will be provided when available.
There are, of course, certain responsibilities councillors need to know and our excellent parish clerk, Sharon Milne keeps the Council on the straight and narrow and will be able to advise anyone considering to stand for election to this worthwhile position. Sharon’s contact details can be found on the Parish Council page where you will also find further information about activities. The links to the minutes should be helpful too.
