Meat Loaf

A Recipe From Allington W.I.

2lbs minced beef
2 onions finely chopped
Mushrooms, quantity as liked and then chopped as you like
Some cheddar cheese 1cm cubes
1 egg beaten
½ can of condensed soup, tomato is good but you can ring the changes
Salt and pepper


Grease a 2lb loaf tin and line with bread crumbs.
Turn the mixture into the tin and then pour the remaining soup over the meat mixture.
Bake for 1½ to 2 hours at 350F, Gas mark 4 or 180˚C.


Particularly good with a jacket potato – Enjoy!
