We have been contacted by a Mr Ian Bell who is looking for some information about his ancestors who may have a connection with Allington. He says

Should any Allington resident be able to help I hope the following will explain my problem. I am trying to trace my ancestors but I am having difficulty tracing a birth date and mother for my paternal grandmother’s mother, Alice King. From her marriage certificate she married Reuben Goodwin in January 1893 when she was 22 years old. This would give her birth year as 1870-71. The wedding certificate gives Alice’s father as Edward King who had died before her marriage which took place in Basford, Nottingham. The 1911 census shows that Alice was 40 years old and that she was born at Allington Grange in Lincolnshire. I have used this data in my search for Alice’s birth details but have not found her. I am not able to find an Allington Grange in Lincolnshire using Google. Has anyone any knowledge of the King family or Allington Grange?
