The Rotary Club of Grantham Kesteven is planning an amazing Firewalk event on the 30th October to raise money to build school farms in rural Kenya, so the community can grow food to feed the children, particularly those with special needs who are often malnourished. Club President Caroline Breeze founded the charity – Friends of Kianjai Kenya which has been sending £9,000 each year to feed the children at the schools in Kianjai. Unfortunately, this is unsustainable. Caroline has a passion for supporting this community so she has come up with the idea to harvest water so the farms can be set up and the people can become self-sufficient. £35,000 is needed to realise this ambition.
To help raise funds the Rotary Club has organised a Firewalk at Arena UK on 30th October. Doors open 6.30pm. Firewalk at 8.30pm. Places for walkers are still available. There is a £50 fee to cover the costs including supper, with a charity contribution welcome. Alternatively, for £10 you can just come along to watch and enjoy the party. This includes fireworks and supper.
