What is First Contact?
First Contact is a service that allows people aged 60 and over to access a wide range of services and information to help them stay safe and well in their own home through one point of contact.
The checklist addresses issues such as:
- Fire safety
- Social care
- Benefits and entitlements
- Falls prevention
- Local transport
- Energy efficiency
- Support for carers
- Voluntary services information
- Health advice
How does First Contact work?
Our customers can complete a simple checklist in one of our leaflets, with a trained member of staff, on the phone with a Central Coordinator or through our website. The answers customers provide to the checklist questions indicate which agencies they require information and advice from.
Completed checklists generate referrals to the required agency prompting them to contact the customer and deliver the information and advice required within 28 days.

First Contact Field Coordinators
First ContactField Coordinators are employed by Age UK. Their role is to raise awareness about the scheme within the community. They are available to deliver talks to local groups and organisations.
