Comedy Returns To Allington
Back by popular demand is an overused cliché in the world of entertainment. However in the case of Allington’s comedy night it is more than justified.
The first comedy night held last October was a great success and the organisers – the playing field fundraisers – have been asked to repeat the event by many people. And here it is.
The show will take place on Saturday 30 April and will feature Lee Kyle, John Ryan and Mandy Muden. Tickets go on sale on 14th March and will be available from the shop, the pub and online.
Some of the material will contain adult themes and will be unsuitable for children.
The Line Up
Described by the BBC as a “top up-and-coming comedy performer”, Lee Kyle has spend much of his life on a never ending quest to never have a proper job.
He was in an all male Spice Girls tribute act before spending a decade as a professional wrestler and then trying his hand at stand-up.
Managing the difficult trick of being both odd and relatable, his jokes veer between the clever and the silly and deliver more than their fair share of belly laughs.
He has written for Radio 4 and appeared on BBC Radio’s Jesting About and wrote and starred in a sketch for ITV’s coverage of the Rugby World Cup, despite having no interest in rugby.
He host the succesful 21 Questions podcast and has a Youtube video with 2 million views, on which most of the comments are from American’s telling him they can’t understand his accent.
“Quirky and original – the highlight of the night” – Giggle Beats
“Very funny” – Manchester Evening News
“Had everyone on their feet – Sublimely ridiculous.” – Northern Echo
“A brilliant performance.. Pure genius!” – NARC Magazine

As well as John Ryan’s wealth of experience and ability to adapt his performances to any audience has made him one of the most popular corporate hire comedians on the comedy circuit.
“Just wanted to let you know that as an office we had an absolutely fantastic time last Friday and John Ryan made our event so very special. Everyone has been talking about it and The Comedy Club since…he is genuinely funny and lovely guy.” Eversheds International
“The comedian provided by The Comedy Club was pitch perfect and went down fantastically well both at our events in the North and South. Feedback from the delegates was great and they all really enjoyed it. I was particularly impressed with the effort John Ryan put into getting to know the audience prior to the event, he really tapped into what made them tick, another testament to The Comedy Club’s level of service and understanding of the event.” Guinness
