Allington’s first foray into competitive walking football ended in defeat at Collingham on Friday evening. Nonetheless there was much to be pleased about. Allington fell behind early in the game and despite going 2 – 0 down started to find their rhythm as the match progressed. At the interval the score was 3 – 1 so it really was a game of two halves as Allington dominated the second period, scoring and pressing hard for the equaliser towards the end.
With an average age around about the 50 mark Allington’s manager Steff Wright knows that he has at least another 20 years to mould his team into the invincibles of walking football.
