Our first meeting of the year was held in early February. It was very well attended and we were delighted to welcome a new member.
Our speakers for the evening were Allington Lives who gave an interesting talk about their activities which was much appreciated by the meeting. We all agreed that the “first responders” are a very important part of our village and richly deserve all the support that we can give them.
They treated us to a demonstration of artificial resuscitation and Members took the opportunity of having a close look. The talk was very informative and we are all much clearer about our first port of call in an emergency.
The meeting also covered the normal “new year” processes of collection of subs (still very reasonable) and nominations for the Committee for the year ahead. We are looking forward to the coming year with a full programme of speakers and activities and to playing our part in the rich social life of our village.
