Allington Gardens Residents’ Association

Allington Gardens, situated on the edge of the village in what was a prisoner of war camp during the Second World War. Allington Gardens has grown since then and extended its homes over the years to have almost 200 park homes on site.

We have an active residents association, which looks after residents’ interests on the park liaising with the managers on site and with Berkeley Parks when necessary. During the year we try to organise events on the Green, such as boules and picnics, weather permitting and coach outings to wherever we fancy. Christmas time we have a party and this year 2016 we organised a Burns Night along with the Friday Afternoon social group.

Communications on the park are by notice boards and now we have a circular email system in place, the web page seemed like the next step.

Members receive a newsletter ‘Down the Gardens’ every three months which, along with the online communications we are now setting up, keeps them informed of the activities of the committee and information of items of concern and interest to residents. We also advertise social events planned and report on these afterwards. We include news of our neighbours, recipes, gardening quizzes and, generally, any snippets that might be of interest.
