Grantham Shotokan Karate Club started life in 2003 with only a handful of members. The Club has since grown in size and we now have over 40 members ranging in age from 7 to 70+ years old. Our normal policy is to allow students to train from the age of 7, but we are willing to consider students from the age of 6 if a parent (or parents) trains too. Our aim is to teach quality karate in a safe, family-friendly environment whilst retaining the traditional values associated with Shotokan karate. As a ‘not for profit’ organisation, we try to maintain fees at an affordable level.
Gradings are held approximately every 3 months and a new belt is given to each successful student. Karate suits (gi’s) can be purchased through us.
We hold two classes in Allington Village Hall every Sunday; the first being for black and brown belts from 5.15pm until 6pm, followed by all grades training (including black and brown belts) from 6pm until 7.30pm.
We also hold a class at Bottesford VC Hall on Tuesdays from 7pm until 8.30pm.
All of our instructors have full CRB checks along with the club and association coaching qualifications.
