Allington Morris – Summer Programme

If you are a fan of Allington Morris (and who isn’t?) you will need to know where they are scheduled to perform this summer. The season kicks off on 22 April at Grantham and a strength sapping itinerary takes our local team as far afield as Long Bennington and Sedgebrook. A highlight of the year is sure to be the Diamond Jubilee celebrations and the programme also includes the annual visit to the Lincoln BIG Morris festival. You can see full details below.

Sunday 22nd April St Georges Day event Grantham, usually the high street outside SKDC offices From 12 noon
Tuesday 1st May Traditional start of the Morris dance season. Generally celebrated by Morris sides at dawn on the 1st May. However, Allington have never been a traditional side especially when it comes to dancing at the crack of dawn. We choose to dance at a more acceptable time of 7.45pm. The Welby Arms, Allington 7.45pm
Friday 11th May Opening Sedgebrook Parish Council’s Annual Meeting with a dancing demonstration Sedgebrook Club 7.00pm
Saturday 12th May Helpston Gala – still to be confirmed Helpson Time tbc
Sunday 3rd June Diamond Jubilee Celebrations Woolsthorpe Manor 11 – 1.30
Summer Meadow event, plant fair and summer market Easton Walled Gardens 2.00 – 4.00
Monday 4th June Allington Diamond Jubilee event The Welby Arms, Allington 12.00-2.00
Long Bennington Fete Somewhere in Long Bennington 2.00-4.00
Saturday 1st September Lincoln BIG Morris Festival Lincoln at various venues in the City Centre with many other Morris sides 10.00am until late afternoon
Sunday 14th October Apple Day Woolsthorpe Manor 12.00 onwards for the afternoon

  1. Please – are you free on Saturday 19 July, for some period between 2pm – 4pm? If yes, we would love you to come to Canwick village fete, just outside Lincoln…

    We have a modest budget which should help expenses.

    Could you please confirm that you received our emails asking g if you would grace us with your pleasurable afternoons entertainment once again this year 2020 at Dry Doddington Village summer fete.
    The date is Saturday the 22nd of August 1pm to 5pm.
    We have left you the 3pm to 4pm slot to allow you to do thrill the maximum crowds.
